You are cordially invited to participate in Koumbit's 16th Annual General Meeting, which will take place on Wednesday, November 18th, 2020. This event will allow members and those interested in Koumbit to learn about the past year's activities and to help us plan for the years ahead.
The pandemic is slowly ramping down in Montreal, and the city is slowly deconfining. However, deaths and new infections continue to affect the communities of which we are a part, and especially marginalized communities and working class neighbourhoods. The recent decisions by the government concerning the reopening of businesses and public spaces seem to us to be much more motivated by economic interests than concern for public health.
At the beginning of January, some clients of Koumbit were victims of attacks aiming to silence them by making their website inaccessible, leading to some network performance issues. First, we want to highlight that this type of attack does not involve any data leak. Second, as Koumbit workers, we want to explain how these attacks could affect you, and what are our solutions to deal with them.
