New WordPress site for the Syndicat des professeures et professeurs de la Télé-université

The goal of the Syndicat des professeures et professeurs de la Télé-université is to establish orderly relations between the university's management, its employees and the members themselves, and to study, defend and develop the economic, social, moral and professional interests of its members.

The organisation's needs:

• Website redesign
• Content reorganization
• Autonomy for site management

Our proposal:

• Refresh the website appearance
  • Following an update of the hosting and core of WordPress, the premium theme and Page Builder that had been installed previously were no longer working.
  • In collaboration with the Union, we installed and configured a free, regularly updated theme, adapted to different screen sizes, and we adapted the content to the new WordPress content editor.
• Revise the information architecture
  • The Union wanted to transform its web site from an information showcase to a union education and support site for its members: in collaboration with Union members, we implemented a new content architecture (pages and subpages) and its associated navigation.
  • We also installed and configured an Event Calendar plugin to make it easier for the Union to add activities and to share this information with its members.
• Provide coaching, documentation and training
  • In order to encourage the autonomy of the Union, we prepared written documentation and a training session to guide members in charge of the management of the website in adding and modifying content as well as in the general maintenance of the website.
