It's possible to have a secure connection to a site hosted in your self-managed hosting account by getting an SSL certificate configured. Broadly speaking, there are types of certificates that we offer:
- A SSL certificate from LetsEncrypt : free (renewal of the certificat is automatic and has no cost)
- A SSL certificate from another provider: installation fee of 75$ + tx, purchase of the certificate and renewal not included
While in most cases it is not necessary to purchase a certificate, as LetsEncrypt is sufficient for most needs, it is possible to purchase certificates issued by Trustico/RapidSSL directly from us for the second option, otherwise you will have to purchase one yourself and send up the certificate and private key.
