It is possible to configure Matomo to generate and send automatic e-mail reports. This functionality will allow you to easily keep a history of of the reports in PDF form for your own archives. It also ensures that reports are generated, so that your statistics will be preserved when the raw data will be deleted!
- Connect to the Matomo web interface by going through the self-managed hosting interface
- Click on the gear icon near the top of the screen as shown in the following image
- Click on "Email reports"
- Configure the options for the report that you desire to receive
You can configure more than one report. The specified email will receive them daily, weekly or monthly. You can choose the time frame or programmed segment of the report, and the informations it will contain.
Generating this report will make sure your data is saved on the long term, without having to constantly check the Matomo interface!
