Phase 2 of our long-standing work relationship with Québec solidaire (a political party in the province of Quebec) consisted in installing a squid (see http://squid-cache.org for details), in order to provide a better server performance during the 2008 electoral campaign.
This was also a test-case in the development of Koumbit's permanent Web caching service, in support of high-traffic dynamic websites.
