Koumbit is hiring a PHP developer with experience in WordPress and/or Drupal who are motivated to work in a non-hierarchical collective. This position requires 4+ years of experience and is ideal for developers who would like to work closely with clients to realise dynamic web projects while contributing to and supporting the work of the Koumbit collective as a whole.

As you may know, PHP 7.0 reached its end of life a few years ago (January, 2018). The last security updates have been applied in January, 2019.
We understand that switching to a newer version of PHP can require some work, which was the reason we let you use it until now.
However, we have to move forward and stop maintaining deprecated versions of PHP which don't receive any security updates.
Koumbit and its members wish to state their solidarity with the Palestinian people.

As you may know, PHP 5.6 reached its end of life a few years ago (January, 2017). The last security updates have been applied in December, 2018.
We understand that switching to a newer version of PHP can require some work, which was a reason to let you use it until now.
However, we have to move forward and stop maintaining deprecated versions of PHP which don't receive any security updates.
For clients in our self-managed hosting service, PHP 8.1 is now available as a choice for powering your web sites.
This option may be activated by going to the control panel and changing the type of a sub-domain to "Locally hosted (PHP 8.1)". Please note that this change updates the DNS entry, and the time until it becomes effective will vary based on the TTL you have configured for your domain. You can check your domain's TTL by editing it and clicking on the "settings" tab.
