Web Hosting
The heart of our self-managed hosting solutions is our own, in-house AlternC Control Panel. This efficient, no-frills application was devised in order to empower its users. Unlike many other Web hosting companies, Koumbit gives its clients full permissions with regards to email and FTP account creation; database creation, backup and recovery; multiple domain name hosting; subdomain creation and redirection; as well as mailing list configuration. With AlternC, all these operations become as easy as 1-2-3!

Shared Hosting
Self-managed AlternC packages (A, B & C) come with the following quotas and configuration:
- 200 e-mail addresses/accounts (POP, IMAP, aliases and webmail);
- 100 domains;
- 100 MySQL databases;
- 100 FTP accounts;
- AlternC Web interface for the management of your services (files, accounts, databases, etc.);
- PHP 5 engine;
- Apache server running on GNU-Linux or BSD.
If the above hosting packages do not suit your needs, ask us for more options! The quotas can be increased if needed.
Quota policy
Excess monthly bandwidth will be charged at $1 per GB.
If a user exceeds the bandwidth OR disk quota during three (3) consecutive months, we will automatically charge the next superior package at the time of account renewal (for instance: if a client exceeds his bandwidth limit from May to September on the "A" package, we will charge him the "B" package).
Ægir Coming Soon!
As of Fall 2009, Koumbit will be offering new accounts running under the Ægir platform. Ægir is a Drupal-based control panel and hosting environment, offering new and exciting features such as the easy installation, migration and maintenance of Drupal websites (and other CMS to be made available later). Take note that our AlternC platform will still be useable alongside Ægir, but will be phased out progressively. If you want to be an Ægir beta tester, contact us now!
