Happy hour at Koumbit: Isuma showcasing Inuit media


On Friday, October 30, 2009 Koumbit will be hosting a presentation of the website Isuma.TV. Isuma(link to website), an Inuit word meaning 'to think', is a forward thinking organisation providing a webspace for young and old people working together in order to help perserve the knowledge of ancestorial Inuit culture.

Isuma TV is an organisation that showcases images, video, blogs, and audio created by Inuit people for Inuit people.

John Hodgins, project manager, will discuss how the platform enables Inuit people the means to express themselves by showcasing their work on the Isuma website. Then Koumbit will discuss the technical challenges related to the establishment of a network of video blogging in the far north, where Internet access is slow and limited.
