The Gazette grants $2000 to Koumbit to develop FLOSS applications
Montreal's The Gazette newspaper donated $2000 to Koumbit, in order to foster the development and promotion of free and open source software. We are currently using this contribution to support Drupal, a CMS we use on a daily basis, both for satisfying our internal needs and meeting customer requirements.
Ten percent of this sum was directly transferred to the Drupal Association, the nonprofit organization which administers the Drupal.org website, and organizes major Drupal-related events and conferences.
The rest is being used to develop two projects in particular:
- Decisions: a Drupal module created by Koumbit, that facilitates decision-making and provides various online voting systems.
- AEgir: a massive project headed by Development Seed, which aims at providing ISPs an ergonomical hosting management platform with a built-in Drupal deployment capability.
We want to sincerely thank The Gazette for this grant, which helps us fulfill our mission of promoting free and open source software and building greater IT awareness among the general public.
